Part 93001522 is the speed control cover for Hoover S3590 series canisters - the S3590, S3591, S3592 and SH30010. It is the small moulding that caps the speed control on the body of the machine.
This is a part that goes missing rather than wears out. A clip lets go while the machine is being carried, the cover disappears behind furniture, and the control underneath is left open to the dust the vacuum is throwing around. Once grit works into the slider, the control starts to feel gritty and stiff, and it stops moving cleanly between settings.
Fitting a new one takes seconds. Push it home until every clip seats and the cover sits flush - a cover standing proud is caught on something underneath and will pop off again the first time the machine is knocked.
