The collar, part CMQD-CO, is the ring fitting on the Fuller Brush FBP-14PWBP upright that clamps a hose end into its port and holds it square. It also fits the Carpet Pro CMP3N, CMP3QD, CMP3T, CPU1QD, CPU3N and CPU3QD, the Clean Max CMPSQD, and the Titan T4000.2 and TC6000.2.
Collars are moulded plastic under constant load and they crack. Once one splits, the hose it was holding sits loose in its port, pulls free when the machine is moved, and leaks air at the joint the entire time it is in place, which reads at the carpet as a machine that has lost its edge for no visible reason.
A new collar clamps the connection tight again. Small part, but the difference it makes to a leaking joint is not small.
