Sanitaire, Carpet Pro and Tornado all sell versions of the same backpack, and this is the HEPA-rated secondary filter with its frame for that machine, part B352-5200. It fits the Sanitaire SC412, SC412A and SC420, the Carpet Pro SCBP-1 and the Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Roam. The media is carried in a plastic frame that drops into the housing ahead of the motor.
Sitting between the bag and the motor, this is the filter that catches whatever the bag lets through. When it saturates, the operator usually notices heat and noise before suction loss, because the motor is pulling against a wall of packed dust and running hot to do it.
Change it about every twelve to eighteen months, or nearer the twelve if the machine works construction dust or runs multiple shifts a week.
