SEBO Thrust Member for the Pile Adjustment Knob — G Series, 300/350 and 370 COMFORT

Height selection that drifts out of its detent usually traces back to one small component behind the pile adjustment knob. SEBO part 2833 is that thrust member: it passes spring load into the back of the knob so a carpet height, once dialled in, is still there three rooms later. The height mechanism works by pressure. A spring pushes on the thrust member, the thrust member pushes on the knob, and the friction that results is what holds a chosen setting against the weight of the machine. When the face of the part wears smooth or the plastic splits, that pressure falls away: the knob spins loosely, the setting creeps down into deep pile on its own, or the indexing feel disappears entirely and one notch can no longer be told from the next. None of that is a fault in the knob itself, and replacing the knob without the thrust member behind it tends to bring the same complaint back.

Order by location rather than by name. This one serves the knob; the near-twin 2834 bears against the pile adjustment axle instead, and most repairs call for one of the pair rather than both. On the ESSENTIAL G machines the knob itself is 2862HG in light gray, the pile adjustment wheel is 5174HG, and the axle those parts ride on is 2861. On the 370 COMFORT the pile adjustment spring is stocked as 4019 and the height wheel as 2608HG.
