The SF-HY 60 is the hygiene filter for Miele's Blizzard CX1 Boost bagless canister, part 11639240, and it is the last thing the air passes through before it comes back into the room.
Exhaust filters work by holding on to what they catch, so they have a finite life by design. As the medium loads, airflow through the machine narrows: suction at the floor head slips even though nothing is blocked, the motor works harder and sounds it, and a bagless machine left too long can smell faintly dusty while it runs.
A fresh SF-HY 60 drops into the exhaust filter bay by hand, no tools needed, and both the airflow and the quality of the exhaust go back to where they were. Change it when the machine's filter indicator prompts you.
