NuTone's CV353 power unit runs a secondary filter behind the primary stage, and this 11-inch replacement, part ECC-CV353, drops into that position.
A central vacuum hides its problems well. The power unit sits in a garage or basement, so nobody watches the filter load up. What you notice instead is suction going soft at every wall inlet in the house, upstairs and down. That whole-house drop is the signature of a restricted filter, where a blocked pipe usually kills one inlet at a time.
Swapping it is a two-minute job at the unit, and it keeps fine dust from working its way through to the motor. Measure the filter you take out against 11 inches before ordering.
