Part 17376SAN is the power switch for the Sanitaire SC535A canister, the rocker in the body of the machine that makes and breaks the motor circuit.
Switches are mechanical parts carrying the full motor current, and on a commercial canister they are worked many times a day. The contacts pit and burn until the machine needs the switch jiggled to start, cuts out when the canister is dragged over a threshold, or does nothing at all when pressed. That last symptom looks like a dead motor and usually is not; the switch is both the more likely fault and much the cheaper one to rule out by replacement.
It also fits the Eureka and Sanitaire SC530B. Unplug the machine before opening the housing, and note which lead goes where before disconnecting the old switch.
