The manifold is the body of the Rainbow E2 power nozzle that carries the nozzle motor. Part R12900 is the snap-in version: the motor is held by two tabs rather than screws, which makes a motor swap far quicker than it used to be.
Because of that change it is model-specific. It works with the PN-2E Silver power nozzle from serial number 7763130 onward, and with the R12918 snap-in motor design. If the motor in your nozzle is held in with screws, this is not the manifold for it.
Manifolds get replaced when the plastic has cracked around the motor mounts or the pivot, usually after the nozzle has been forced or dropped. A cracked mount lets the motor shift under load, which throws the belt off the roller and makes the nozzle noisy. It is listed for the E2 Blue in Platinum and Silver, the E2 Gold two-speed and the E2 two-speed.
