Part X9658 is the harness with strap for the Carpet Pro SCBP1.2 and Sanitaire SC420.2 backpack vacuums, and it also fits the Powr-Flite Comfort Pro BP6 and BP10 series. It is the wearing half of a backpack machine: the motor may run for a decade, but padding compresses, webbing frays at the buckles and stitching gives out at the anchor points long before that.
Operators tend to put up with a worn harness far longer than they should. The machine starts riding low, the weight shifts as you turn, and the shoulders end up carrying load the belt was designed to take, which is how a full shift with a backpack turns punishing.
Replacing the harness is the cheapest thing you can do for a crew running these daily, and it is a job of minutes rather than a trip to a service counter.
