Carpet height on an ET-1 or ET-2 power head is chosen with a single control, and 2931GS is it in gray black. SEBO shows the knob at position 110 on the ET-1/ET-2 sheet, where the DART list files the same position under pile adjustment button. Turning it steps the brush roll up or down so the bristles meet plush, medium or low carpet at a sensible depth instead of skating over the fibers or stalling in them.

Knobs catch on furniture legs and split at the hub long before the mechanism underneath gives out. A cracked hub turns without driving the shaft below it, which strands the head on whatever setting it was last left on, and a knob that has gone missing altogether leaves nothing to grip. Fitting a new one restores indexed selection without opening the rest of the adjustment group.
