Panasonic builds the brush roll on the MC-V7388 with removable bristle strips, and part AC85RBFT0000 is a full set of six — enough to redo the roller in one go rather than mixing new strips with worn ones.
Bristles do not fail so much as get shorter. Past a certain point they stop reaching down into the pile, and the roller sweeps the surface instead of agitating it: lint and pet hair stay behind, the carpet does not lift, and no number of extra passes helps. Because it happens over years, most people put it down to the machine getting old.
Lay a straight edge across the roller — if the bristles sit level with the housing lip, they are finished. The strips slide into the roller channels, and a fresh set brings back the agitation for far less than a complete brush roll.
