Oreck Channel - U2000 Upright Bottom Plate

The channel on an Oreck U2000 upright runs along the underside of the machine as part of the bottom plate assembly, guiding air and debris from the nozzle opening back toward the bag. Oreck lists it as part 430001018.

It is a wear item in the most literal sense: it spends its life dragged across carpet and hard floor. A channel that has worn thin, cracked at a mounting boss, or lost its shape stops sealing against the floor, and the machine starts leaving fine dust behind on the pass it used to pick up. A rattle from underneath the nozzle is the other cue.
