SEBO Motor Cover for 370 COMFORT and ELECTRONIC 370

Two different parts on a SEBO 370 get called the motor cover, and this is the outer one. Part 1853SE is the moulding that closes the motor compartment off from the outside of the machine on the 370 COMFORT and the ELECTRONIC 370. It is not the shroud wrapped directly around the motor itself, which is stocked separately as part 1821UL.

Its job is half protection and half structure. Closed up, it seals the compartment against the dust and grit an upright runs over all day. It also gives the panels around it the reference edge that keeps the base of the machine square. Break a mounting tab or crack the face and both go at once: the bay lies open, the surrounding trim sits proud, and the vacuum develops a rattle that no amount of tightening will cure. Cracks generally start at a screw boss or along the edge that takes the impact when the machine is dropped onto its base.

Telling the two covers apart before ordering saves a return. 1853SE is the panel visible from outside with the machine assembled, while 1821UL sits inside against the motor and only comes into view once this one is off. Both are listed for the 370 COMFORT and the ELECTRONIC 370. Where the complaint is noise rather than a visible crack, the insulation inside the bay is the more likely cause and the outer cover is probably doing its job perfectly well.
