This is the nozzle brush frame for the Kirby Avalir II shampooer system, part 857222, also numbered 327218S. The belt lifter and the inlet come with it. It fits the Kirby Avalir 2 and the Avalir Platinum.
The frame is the structural piece the shampooer runs on: it carries the brush, takes the belt lifter that engages and releases drive, and holds the inlet that feeds the head. Crack a mounting boss - usually by dropping the unit or forcing it onto the machine - and the whole assembly sits loose, the belt lifter stops working cleanly, and the shampooer will not hold its position on the carpet.
Because the belt lifter and inlet are included, the head goes back together in one job instead of you chasing three small parts separately.
