Kirby Handle Grip/ Classic Red

Part 173377S is the handle grip for the Kirby Classic III, model 2CB, supplied in the machine's original Classic red.

Grips are consumables on a machine this old, whatever the rest of it looks like. Years of hand oil and sunlight leave the surface hardened and chalky, the molded texture worn flat where the palm sits, and often a crack running along the seam. It stops being a cosmetic problem the moment the grip lets go while the vacuum is being carried up a flight of stairs.

Fitting the correct red part matters on a 2CB, because the grip sits at eye level and a mismatched one is the first thing anybody notices.
