Pack of five brush roll end caps, Kirby part 156493S, for the Generation series and the machines that followed it: the G4, G5, Generation 6, Ultimate G, Diamond Edition, Sentria, Sentria II, Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum.
The end cap closes the end of the roller and holds it centered in the nozzle. When one wears, the roll gains a little side-to-side play, and that play shows up as a wobble. The bristles hit the carpet harder on one side than the other, the belt starts to wander in its track, and the noise from the head changes.
Caps are worth replacing at the same time as bearings, since both are consumed by the same wear and both sit behind the same disassembly. Five in a pack covers a couple of services.
