SEBO Internal Cable with Thermal Cut-Off, PCB to Motor, for AIRBELT K Series — Black

A canister that runs for a few minutes, stops dead, then wakes up again once it has cooled down is describing its own fault fairly precisely. On a SEBO AIRBELT K the lead feeding the suction motor from the control board carries its own thermal cut-off partway along, and 816403 is the whole assembly: a black cable delivered with that protective device already in place. It is the correct part for the AIRBELT K2 KOMBI, the AIRBELT K2 TURBO and the AIRBELT K3 PREMIUM.

Treat the cut-off as a consumable rather than a permanent fixture. It is positioned where the temperature inside the body is highest, and enough heat cycles will either open it permanently, leaving a canister that refuses to start, or leave it triggering at loads the machine used to shrug off. The crimped terminals at each end sit in the same heat and slowly lose their grip on the spades, adding resistance exactly where nobody wants it. Fitting a complete new lead puts full current back into the motor and brings the over-heat protection back into circuit in the same operation.

SEBO's AIRBELT K parts drawing is worth having open, read as a drawing rather than as a compatibility list. The components this cable joins appear on it as the electronic controller at position 14 — printed there as 6641ER and 6645ER — and the vacuum motor at position 17, 6631ER. Position 16 of the same sheet is where the wrong order usually happens: that line is printed as an internal cable in white against number 6638. Two numbers, two colours, one very similar description. Quote 816403 when the lead you are pulling out is the black one carrying the thermal cut-off.
