This is the sock on its own, 50 feet of it, part HS502105 — the fabric sleeve that goes over a Hide-A-Hose retractable hose so it can slide into and out of the pipework without scuffing.
Socks wear out well before hoses do, which is the whole reason they exist. Thousands of trips through the tubing thin the fabric, and it eventually frays, opens at a seam, or bunches up. What you notice is a hose that has become hard to pull out, hard to push back, or that stops halfway with a length of it still hanging out of the wall. The hose underneath is usually fine.
Re-socking a good hose costs a fraction of replacing it. Match the length to the hose you are covering rather than to the pipe run, and take the old sock off and measure it if you are not sure what you have.
