Part B012-0700 is the metal end cap for the left, non-pulley side of the brush roll in Carpet Pro and Fuller Brush uprights. The right-hand side, where the belt drives the roller, takes a different cap — B012-0800 — so the two are not interchangeable and it is worth confirming which side you are working on before ordering.
The cap carries the roller end and keeps it located in the housing. When it wears, the roller drops slightly at that end: the bristles stop meeting the carpet on the left, the machine cleans one strip better than the rest of its width, and the roller starts to knock as it turns.
