The upper handle is what you actually hold on a Sanitaire commercial upright, and part 157746 is the loop-grip version fitted to the SC886G and its siblings. It carries the operator's whole steering input, so it takes every knock the machine takes.
Handles crack at the grip or work loose where they meet the tube, and once that happens the vacuum wanders instead of tracking where you push it. Over a full shift that is tiring, and on stairs it is worse than tiring.
This one fits the Sanitaire and Eureka SC886F, SC886G, SC887D, SC888M, SC888N and SC899G uprights. Move any reusable hardware over from the old handle when you fit it, and check that the new handle seats fully before you tighten anything down.
