Riccar's Vibrance range filters through an electrostatic media, and part B222-0800, also sold as RVF-2, is the replacement. It works by holding a static charge on the media, so fine particles are attracted to the fibres and held instead of being carried through. That lets it catch dust without the airflow penalty of a dense filter.
It fits the Vibrance VIBS, VIBD and VIBDL models along with the Riccar R200, R300 and R300C, R500, R600, R700 and R800 series including the R800C and R800C.4.
Electrostatic media loses effectiveness as it loads, and a grey, matted filter is both catching less and breathing harder. If suction has softened and the bag is not full, this is the part to look at before anything else. Keep a spare on the shelf and change it on a schedule rather than by feel.
