Dirt Tank Separator - Bissell PowerForce Compact 1520 / 2112 Upright

Part 1607629 is the dirt tank separator from the Bissell PowerForce Compact bagless upright, fitting the 1520 and 2112 machines and their variants. It is the insert inside the dirt cup that spins incoming air so debris drops out before it reaches the fine filter.

When the separator is cracked, distorted, or simply left out after emptying, the cyclone stops doing its job and dust goes straight onto the filter. The filter then blinds within a session or two, suction collapses, and the motor works against a restriction it was never designed to see.

It is worth checking whenever the machine loses suction with a clean filter fitted, because a split you can barely see is enough to short-circuit the airflow. Seat the new one fully in the tank and make sure the tank latches without force.
