Carpet Shampoo - Stainex, 1 Gallon

Stainex carpet shampoo, one gallon, part 90701-04S. It is a concentrate for carpet shampooers and extractors: dilute it as the label directs, work it into the carpet with the machine, and lift it back out.

A gallon is the size to buy if you clean whole rooms rather than spots - enough for several passes over a large area without rationing it, and it keeps between cleanings.

Vacuum thoroughly first. Shampoo is for the soil that has worked down into the pile, and loose grit left on the surface only turns to mud. Keep traffic off until the carpet is dry all the way through rather than just dry to the touch, and move some air through the room while it dries. Once or twice a year, a proper shampooing pulls out the ground-in soil that vacuuming alone leaves behind.
