The pedal shaft is the steel rod the handle-release pedal pivots on, low at the back of the nozzle where the handle meets the body. This is the replacement for the Carpet Pro CPU-2T commercial upright, part B020-0300, and it also fits the CPU1QD, CPU3N, CPU3QD, CPU4N and CPU4T, the Fuller Brush FBMMPWCF4, FBPHD2 and FBPHD2T, and the Titan T4000.2. The same shaft is used in the Riccar 8900, 8905, 8920 and 8925.
Every time the machine is tilted back the shaft takes the load, thousands of times a year in commercial use. Worn or bent, the pedal goes sloppy or stops latching, and the handle either will not recline or will not lock upright, which is when the vacuum starts falling over on its own.
Replacing the shaft restores a positive click at the pedal.
