The axle is what the bottom plate wheels turn on, and part B010-0500 replaces it on the Carpet Pro commercial uprights. It is listed for the Carpet Pro CMP3N, CMP3QD, CMP3T, CPU1QD, CPU1T, CPU2, CPU2T and CPU3QD, the Clean Max CMPSQD, the Fuller Brush FBHD1, FBHD1T, FBMMPWCF4, FBPHD2T and FBP-14PWBP, and the Titan T4000.2 and TC6000.2.
An axle wears at the same rate as the wheels it carries but is easier to overlook, because the symptom looks like a wheel problem. The wheel develops play, sits at a slight angle and rocks under load, so the machine wanders and the plate scrapes on one side. Fitting a new wheel onto a worn axle simply repeats the fault in a few months.
Change both together while the plate is off. It is the same job either way.
