Part B012-0600 is the felt seal used in the Carpet Pro commercial upright and its Tacony siblings. A felt seal is a wear strip: it closes the gap in the nozzle assembly so that the air the motor pulls comes in through the floor inlet and nowhere else.
When the felt compresses, tears or falls out, the machine develops a leak it cannot show you. Suction at the hose is unchanged, the bag is fine, the belt is fine, and the carpet still does not come up. That is the signature of a lost seal, and it is why this small part is worth checking on any older machine that has quietly stopped cleaning as well as it used to.
