This is the brush roll for Kirby's Heritage and Legend era uprights — Heritage I (1HD), Heritage II (2HD), Legend I and Legend II. Sold as part 152584G, the roughly 15-inch roller runs on sleeve bearings and carries the belt sensor magnet these machines use, so the belt indicator keeps working after the swap.
Brush rolls wear at the bristle tips first. The vacuum still sounds fine, but carpets stop coming clean because the bristles no longer reach into the pile, and worn bearing ends can add a rumble or wobble on top. A quick test: slide a business card under the nozzle with the machine running — if the bristles do not flick it, the roll is due.
It replaces earlier numbers 152584, 156288, 152581G, 48-3453-01 and 1551-84C, so it is the right roller whichever of those is stamped on your old brush.
