The brush roll out of the Earlex 950 3-in-1 broom, part 950005, supplied assembled and ready to drop in.
A broom vac lives or dies on its brush. There is not much suction behind it, so the agitation is doing most of the work of pulling dirt out of a rug or sweeping it off a hard floor. When the bristles wear short and take a set, the roll stops making proper contact and the machine starts pushing debris around instead of collecting it. Hair and thread wound tight around the core do the same thing, and they load the motor as well.
Cut the wrapped hair away with scissors every few uses and the next roll will last considerably longer than the one you are replacing.
