Bissell Bagless Upright Cyclone Assembly

The cyclone assembly for Bissell bagless uprights, part 2031206, listed for the 6582, 6583 and 6585. It is the molded chamber that spins incoming air so the heavier dirt drops out before the air reaches the filters.

When the cyclone is intact the filters stay cleaner for longer and suction holds up between changes. When it is cracked, or a seal at its base has gone, air short-circuits the spin: fine dust that should be dropping into the bin goes straight to the pre-motor filter, which then blocks in weeks instead of months. A machine that suddenly needs its filter cleaned after every use is worth checking here.

Clear a suspect chamber of packed dust first, since the compacted ring around the base does the same thing as a crack, then replace the assembly if the fault stays.
