These are the fasteners that get lost. They come out during a belt change or a brush roll service, roll under the bench, and get replaced with whatever is in the jar; the wrong thread then chews the boss it goes into and a small repair turns into a large one. A screw that has been over-torqued a few times also loses its bite, so the bearing plate creeps and the front wheel develops a wobble.
Buying five at once means you have spares for the next service. Start them by hand to be sure they pick up the original thread before you drive them home.
