SEBO Air Duct for FELIX Premium and FELIX 2 Premium — Gray Black

Every particle the brush roll lifts has to pass down one internal channel before it reaches the bag, and on a SEBO FELIX that channel is the air duct. Part 7078GS is that duct in gray black, fitted to the FELIX Premium upright and to the FELIX 2 Premium.

A duct fails in two distinct ways, and they behave nothing alike. The first is a split, generally along a moulded seam or around a mounting boss, after which the motor takes part of its air from inside the machine's own housing rather than off the carpet. The second is a solid blockage: a sock, a compacted band of pet hair or a torn strip of carpet underlay wedges into the bore and airflow collapses outright, new bag or not. The first fault is quiet and gradual, the second is sudden and total. Neither is fixed by changing consumables.

The duct also carries the electronics that meter airflow on these machines. SEBO lists the 120 V printed circuit board with variable suction control, part 7111ER, as the air duct board and draws it at item 5 on the FELIX sheet, which is worth knowing before you start pulling the assembly apart. Downstream sit the pre-motor filter at item 42, part 7012AM, the motor seal at item 7, part 1047, and the 1000 W vacuum motor at item 8, part 7041ER. A duct prised apart to clear a jam seldom mates up properly again, and a crack cannot be closed reliably from the outside, which leaves the replacement moulding as the only honest fix.
