Stairs are the worst job a carpet cleaner is asked to do, and this is the tool built for them. Part 1603650 sprays, scrubs and extracts in a single pass, so the curved outer edge of a tread gets the same treatment as the flat of it.
It works on both a portable spot cleaner and a full-size upright deep cleaner, which is what makes it worth keeping even when your machine shipped with something similar. Cracked bodies and blocked throats are the usual reasons to replace one: once air leaks into the tool it will wet a stain without ever lifting it back out.
Fitment spans Bissell's DeepClean and ProHeat uprights, including the 25A3 family, the 8910 series, the 9200 and 9400 machines, the 1383 and 1799, and the SpotClean 5207 portables. Flush it with clean water after each use.
